Great little monitor to throw your extras on. While a bit too small for full time work, as a reference device it's perfect. With the right setup it's invaluable; I use mine as a remote/ system monitor. Only real drawback is having to be tethered, but there are very long USB cables available if you don't mind wires everywhere.

Not good...

Review by Mario M. Monti, 2010-03-21

First I would like to say that this does require two USB ports utilizing the cable the comes with the unit.
It will not function properly if at all with a standard USB cable.

It requires the cable that came with it that splits to two USB connectors.
Failure to do so will cause extra erratic behavior, at least on my PC.
Interesting it thinks the splitter cable is a USB hub and installs additional drivers.

The touchscreen usually doesn't work.
It takes a couple reboots before it works.

If you disconnect the unit when running and reconnect, you might as well reboot.
If you don't reboot, expect erratic behavior.

MS's picture viewer doesn't seem to work half the time on this display.

Also, simple small movies do not seem to work at all either.

This also causes problems with my Spyder screen calibrator tossing errors on boot and not letting the Spyder software run.
Yes, I have the latest Spyder software as well.

My PC crashes on a regular basis since the drivers were installed.
Yes, I downloaded the latest as I rarely believe in using a usually outdated driver CD that gets included.

Since I have Amazon prime, I was able to get this next day for $4.
Unfortunate that was a waste of money as well.

It's unfortunate this doesn't work well as I wanted it to work well.
It's one of those cool have to have gadget's, but in my case I needed something like this as well...

Don't listen to bad reviews online...the Mimo is a great mini monitor.

Review by D. Munroe, 2010-02-16

The Mimo is everything they said it will be, except for one reviewer who said that the MIMO UM-720 uses two USB ports, ( That's a lie because it only uses one )...I had no problem with the setup and the touch screen display looks very sharp but works better with a stylus, which is not included. So far i've used it for Virtual box with Ubuntu installed, Opera, Skype and Win 7 widgets without any issues. Dialing Skye numbers with your hands is very cool..( just had to include that in )....so buy one and try it before you start posting bad reviews.

Works great, really easy to set up

Review by Lisa S, 2010-01-01

I love my MIMO! I have it connected to a laptop running Windows Vista, and the software installed very easily. (I had an error/hang when I tried to install with both checkboxes marked, but it worked beautifully when I did them one at a time).

As soon as the drivers were installed, it immediately became an extension of my laptop screen with one cord (and one USB port, not two - at least with the version I have, 720S). Calibration was quick and easy. I can choose to have it extend my desktop in whichever direction I choose. Then I grab the handle of a window and move it over to the small screen. I have my tasklist and my twitter feed on it currently. If I turn the screen off, those windows just appear back on my main screen. Likewise, the touchscreen works seamlessly also. Touching a window with the stylus will shift the window focus to that window and acts like a mouse click (so I can check off tasks with my stylus once I focus on that window), and focus will shift back when I click my touchpad on a window on the main screen.

After reading other reviews, I was surprised at how simple to get working this was and how intuitive and handy it is. This "toy" will get a lot of use here.
